Being a former employee with this company, I will tell you the truth about how things work around there.
She won't let me pursue the matter because she is afraid, because he knows where she lives.
I guess a review here is about all I can do to help make sure others don't get preyed on as well.
Nice scam! I thought there are supposed to be laws against preying on the elderly.
She just returned from a trip and had a few small bills and a $50 left.
4) Wheelchair accessible taxis.
When my mother presented him with a $50, he saw an opportunity. He lied and told her that he had no change.
Do you really want to spend your money with a company who doesn't have the customers as their top priority?
If I could give less than 1 star I would. I have had so many bad experiences with this company (also known as Airport Taxi, Yellow Cab, etc.). Sure I've had a handful of good drivers but the number of bad drivers far outweighs that. I've had so many drivers that are rude, don't even say hello. So so many that are talking on their phone the entire time. One driver even tried to get me to add him as a friend on facebook! My last experience drew the line... I permanently switched to Blue and White Taxi which so far is way better. The last driver I had with iHail yelled at me over the phone when I gave the dispatcher specific directions on where to pick me up, the dispatcher said he did not read the note and they called him, then the driver called me yelling at me, and when I got in the car he was upset also... then the entire ride, which was 25 mins... he was extremely upset and angry and taking a personal call and in a heated argument with the person... he was screaming and yelling, waving his hands all over, slamming at EVERY stop light. I did not feel safe at all, and felt so extremely uncomfortable. I have had so many bad experiences with this company, I would not recommend it at all!
2) There is no management who can help you on the spot.
If you are a regular, you may notice that your taxi rarely shows up on time. And when you call to see what's taking so long, the representative says "Sorry about that, we'll put a priority on it right away". Yeah, they just say that to get you off the phone. There is no such thing as a priority.
$31.00 from airport to Edina, but that is not the issue.
1) Their "Customer Service" is a voicemail recording.
He would not let her out of the car to get change. She was afraid and let him keep the $19 tip just so she could get away. Of course he refused a receipt as well so she has no way of filing a complaint.
Again, being a former employee with this company, this is something I have experienced a lot. The drivers are rude and irresponsible for their actions. They not only treat the employees with the utmost disrespect, but they also treat the customers the same, if not worse. And when this issue gets brought up to higher management, their response is: "Well, we need the drivers. Without the drivers, there is no company".
3) There is no such thing as a "Priority".
5) The drivers do and say whatever they please.
My 70 year old mother was just picked up at the airport cab stand by ihail.
A lot of people like the idea of the wheelchair accessible taxis they offer, until they go and order one. "Standard" wait time is 45 minutes, so they say. But in all reality it can take much longer than that. Even if you call ahead and "prearrange" a taxi, you still could be waiting a while for a taxi to even accept the order. I've seen some wheelchair accessible taxis wait up to 4 hours, before the customer finally gave up and cancelled the ride.
If you have any complaints or concerns about any of the staff there, you get transferred to a recorded line. And maybe once a week they will check the recordings, and if it is not anything major, your message gets deleted.
Worst experience of my life, driver tried charging me twice the amount because he got lost for a good half hour and said he didnt get lost. It was suppose to be a 14 minute ride turned into a over an hour.
Say your card gets charged twice the amount it should have. Well, you have to leave a message with the "Customer Service" line, wait for your message to be listened to (which could take awhile), and then wait for a call back from management. They want you to jump through hoops in order to get your money back, how thoughtful.
A very nice guy in #639 saved my husband and I hundreds of dollars by kindly pointing out that we had left a cell phone on the trunk of our car. We thanked him profusely and tried to give him a tip, which he graciously refused. Rare to find kind and helpful people anymore. Today would have been a truly awful day for us if it wasn't for him.
