This place is so quaint--in a great way. Kinda old skool. Kinda cozy. Very friendly--Alex, our bartender was funny, cordial, informed, & attentive. I love the neighborhood bar vibe. The food is savory as well.
The food quality has gone downhill at this place. The wings used to be saucy and delicious. The burgers used to be cooked to order. It's also really annoying that they have the DJ playing so loudly that you have to practically yell to hear one another. What's the point of having that in the first place. No one is paying attention to where the music is coming from. They say Nightingale is for lovers on the postcards they leave st the table. I disagree.
Great experience going here. The bartenders were very patient, and willing to answer questions and give suggestions. The food is quite good, and filled with interesting aromas. Even the bartenders know how to stagger your food so you don't get hit with it all at once. The music they'll have on Wednesday nights is probably the best in the city, and it's kind of a shame that there isn't any room to dance to it.
Wow! This place amazed me. It might have been the bottomless mimosas or how the server called out to us as we were walking out the door that there was a table for us (no wait), but I loved this place! Good selections on the brunch menu for vegetarians - not sure how vegan friendly. However, I will most definitely be back. The ambiance, the service, and the value were all on point. And what a cute name too!
I've been twice, now. The bottom less mimosas are very good. The food is typical brunch fare. I really love the decor here, and the pitcher plant by the kitchen. We had a reservation here, but it took an hour to get our food because a party of 15 came in, and the cooks didn't work our orders in (I'm guessing).
Definitely a place to try, and when you do you'll understand why it has received the awards it has for "Best Nightlife".
Now for the downside. The place is almost too good. It can be difficult to find a seat, and it is hard to order a drink at the bar when you aren't sitting at it. Not that ordering a drink is that good of an idea when the place doesn't have the room for you to stand around and drink without feeling awkward, but it's primarily a restaurant so it is not unexpected.
The only reason I gave two stars, instead of no stars, is for the sourcing of ingredients. I'm not even sure they properly do that anymore, though.
