Absolutely phenomenal facility. I came in for a couple cracked ribs from a slip and fall on a greyhound. Due to injurys sustained in Afganistan I had to be placed on a months regimine of vancomiacine which is caustic to your veins and hence I had to have a new IV about every three days which has left me with scars on almost every conceivable vein I have. To an outsider or just at first glance it would appear that I am a needle junkie. The scars and discoloration look identical to an addicts. Instead of casting judgement and labeling me an opioid seeker the medical staff was more concerned with stabilizing my pain and a reasonable course of medical action. At no time did I feel judged, labeled,or looked down upon. The staff treated me as a human with kindness, respect, and a genuine desire to help me. The only reason they get four stars and not five is their pharmacy could not fill my prescription. Other then that, one of the most decent ER experiences I have ever had. If I could, I would do my grocery shopping at this hospital. Thank you to all the staff that performed their duties with the utmost respect, kindness and concern for my well being.
Urgent care facility is great. I live downtown so very convenient. I also use the clinics for various care from detmatology to well woman and find the medical staff to be knowledgeable and up to speed on the latest - think it’s because it is a teaching environment due to affiliation w/the university.
Baby Friendly hospital but consistently fail to give women with MA breast pumps.... I'm not sure how a hospital can be baby friendly and do this sooo frequently. I work at a clinic and it seems like I call them every other day with this issue.
These people know what they're doing. It's a teaching hospital so there are many resident doctors in training. I always have felt well taken care of here especially when I have birth to my babies. My OB was wonderful, Dr. Pace. Love it here, one stop shop for all your medical needs!
A coworker of mine needed urgent medical care. HCMC was the closest medical facility so we headed that way. Upon arriving at the emergency room we were greeted with locked doors. No security was at the desk to let us into the emergency room. I hit a buzzard on the wall and it took somebody over 10 minutes to let us in the emergency room. I should mention that the person who let us in the room was somebody just getting to work. Pretty sad when you're at a hospital and you can't find anybody to help. List of all security guard should have been fired. Other than that my overall experience was shity.
