Dinner last night at the Level Five, not our first visit but this time their Fennel soup had a good flavor but way too much salt and they might have shopped Cub to get coupon "2 for $5 Dinner Rolls"

Level Five is the more casual option at the Guthrie. Menu is tries to be a little creative, but not wacky, most inventions work out. Not suitable for little kids. I have had pretty good luck with entrees there, it's ok if you don't come in with high expectations like some reviewers here. Sandwiches/burgers are pretty good and reliable. Staff can get frazzled, slow and inattentive if there are a lot of plays performing at the same time. Better luck with one performance nights. Drink menu incorporates cleverly-named drinks related to the evening's show. Generally, this is a good, low-key pre-performance option.

I was so very disappointed by this restaurant. Since it is located inside of the Gutherie Theater, I was expecting it to be a classy restaurant. As a person who does not eat meat or dairy, I do not expect all restaurants to have options on their menu that accommodate. However, most restaurants I have been to are willing to adjust something on the menu and/or do something simple like toss pasta with veggie in olive oil. I asked our server to talk with the chef to see what options we could do. The only thing suggested was a salad with no cheese. Also, we were almost late to our show due to the server not getting our bills to us quickly.

The food has always been good; I appreciate the changing menu; mall portions and perhaps a bit overpriced, but worth, with the east of being at the Guthrie pre-theatre. Service has always been just fine. No complaints!

Service was very good and professional but when we commented about the salt level in the soup and the table next to us commented on the blandness of their dinner pasta I got the feeling that these inputs would never be passed on to the kitchen staff or management, I might be wrong.

The kitchen was already out of the entree we selected even though the restaurant was not full and it was still early. Considering the menu is fairly limited to begin with, this was a disappointing start to the meal. The service proved to be even more disappointing - no bread was offered before our meal even though we heard it being offered to tables around us, the server never checked back to see how we were doing and not realizing salt and pepper are not pre-set on the tables I ended up eating a rather bland baked potato. When asked if we wanted dessert, we said we wanted to take a look at the options. We made our choice and proceeded to wait patiently while the waiter served about 6 other tables around us and ignored us completely for about 15 minutes. We finally gave up on ordering dessert and just asked for the check. Food was good but not a value when coupled with the poor service.
