Bad cell phone coverage in neighborhood (Verizon)
TL;DR: Very good place to live
One star is to much if you're thinking of living here just don't you can do so much better. First off the management doesn't care about anything they only do what is convenient to them if you have an emergency don't even bother calling them they either won't answer or take forever to fix the problem. Which is a problem considering our apartment seemed to have constant problems and there is so much more to say but I'm just going to end with that you don't want to live be here period.
Best management ever
The first is that the walls are paper thin. I can hear every step my upstairs neighbors take, and can sometimes hear the muffled sounds of them speaking even at a normal conversational level. I tell myself that it's kind of like having roommates whom I never see.
Very thin walls
We really enjoyed walking distance to parks and lakes. There's also playground and new tennis court next door and small swimming pool for hot summer days. Apartment has great large windows in living room. Master bedroom and living room are good size too. Management staff is helpful and courteous. Lovely place overall!
Bad:
Super cheap rent for size/location
The second is that the cell phone service (Verizon) is terrible in this entire neighborhood. Not Park Embassy's fault at all or anything they can control, but my iPhone 5s usually has 1 bar of 3g while sitting in my apartment. You can still make phone calls, but you'll have to use WiFi for everything else. Not such a bad thing if you have a tiered data plan, I guess.
Quiet neighbors
One star is too much !! Management only cares about Money, profit & Greed !!! Period !! They do the very minimal maintenance just to get by. The walls and floors are so thin, you hear everything about your neighbors. Phone reception is poor in the building. Parking lot is full of pot holes. The whole summer the hot sauna, was not fixed, all kind of excuses. Very poor lighting around the complex. The Gym room is literally a joke. The laundry machines are so old, they do not wash good, they break very often & out of service sign post is very common. They simply do not care about the Residents. They do not notify the residents, when there is a crime in the complex, they keep it in the hush hush. I do not recommend Park Embassy Apartments in Saint Louis Park.
There are only two negatives to Park Embassy:
Best management ever! Large, well-kept apartments for very cheap - especially this close to Uptown. This price in Uptown would get you a filthy apartment half this size, and an offsite landlord who was out to screw you. Park Embassy is by far the best place I've lived in the Uptown area.
In the 5 months I've lived here, I've submitted 3 work requests for minor things, always after office hours are closed, and every time it has been fixed when I came home from work the next day. The management is so refreshingly competent and welcoming, and Kim regularly puts on social events. It's very evident that Kim cares intensely about her job and the happiness of her tenants.
