A wonderful
There is a deli counter/coffee shop type offering in the Norway House as well. There are lots of delicious cultural treats and dishes available, but when we went, the line moved very slowly and they sold out of a few items, even though the items were still listed on the menu board. This caused a little unrest, but it was the only negative aspect of an otherwise enjoyable afternoon.
Just fine. The gingerbread display is charming but very small. There is only one exhibit room (currently featuring gingerbread houses) and a gift store. Brought the kids under 3 -- wouldn't recommend for that age set. Sure the House hosts some nice community building events, but as an 'attraction' (like a place for our-of-towners to visit) it's underwhelming.
This place seems to set itself up as an awesome cultural community center. I went with my family to see the gingerbread displays of well-known Twin Cities landmarks. It was a lot of fun to see, since it was community members who submitted their creations to honor so many beloved places. This was only a seasonal display, but I'll be interested to see what event is featured in that space next.
Representation of Norwegian culture and heritage. I'm so glad to be a member. The different exhibits are phenomenal! If you're of Norwegian ancestors or have an interest in Norwegian culture go and see!
The gingerbread house display was fantastic!
Happy to have this cultural place here striving to be a bridge to modern Norway, sharing the block with its historic neighbor Mindekirken, the Norwegian Lutheran Memorial Church. Cozy shop, great programs, definitely worth a visit!
