Oh my goodness, where do I even begin?

I have been in therapy here for five years, and my therapist and the staff are concerned about my well-being. They like to examine the thoughts and beliefs that lead to your choices, and help you figure out better ways of making choices to promote self-care such as journaling, having a strong support system, and staying connected to people. I have never had any issues with personal information, and I have never had issues with insurance, except when my insurance company itself is playing hardball with me. I thoroughly enjoy coming, as they help me stay whole.

Great place, they honestly care.

When I met with the doctor, we reviewed my medical history gave me a quick check-up and ordered a blood test. That was it. The fact that I had never even had so much as a pelvic exam didn't seem to be an issue with her. There was certainly no cat-scan. I took the blood test the same day and it took her 2 weeks (her assistant told me she had been out of town) to get back to me and tell me that everything looked good. I came in later that week and she prescribed me hormones on the spot.

They are really bad about how they treat your personal information.

After what seemed like way too many appointments, he finally scheduled me with a doctor, insisting that she was very thorough, and would go to great lengths to make sure everything was in order and safe before prescribing me hormones. He even mentioned that this doctor was known to give people full cat-scans before giving patients the okay.

I ended up having an allergic reaction, and called in with inquiries about changing the delivery method. Once again, doctor wasn't there and didn't get back to me until two days later. When I came back to her office, she ended up prescribing me injections, gave me verbal, readers digest style instructions on how to do it, and sent me on my way without any notes. Oh and she also told me the wrong needle size, which resulted in me going to 6 different pharmacies looking for syringes that apparently don't even exist, which was frustrating to say the least. The pharmacy tech at my neighborhood Walgreens was worlds more helpful and informative than my doctor, and frankly a life-saver.

I'll start with the positives. The staff was friendly. I didn't feel like I was in danger. That's about it.

Origionally, this wasn't even my first choice of clinic, but I ended up here as a sort of compromise with my family (who were apposed to me going to a informed consent clinic for my hormones). I called in and was put on a waiting list, where I stayed for about four months. When I finally got an appointment, I was informed that even with insurance, appointments with a therapist would cost me $700 dollars out of pocket for every hour. Yeah. $700. My therapist was fine. I mean, I've had better, I've had worse. He'd say he was going to call when he had room in his schedule to schedule out appointments, but he never did and I'd always have to do it myself. The reason I was there was to talk about my transition, but He always wanted to focus on my relationship with my mother. If I wanted to talk about my mommy issues, I could have gone anywhere else and payed a fraction of the price.

TLDR: Basically, I've been wasting my time, my money, and my energy and I hope nobody else makes my mistake. You're probably better off at Family Tree in St. Paul.
