Common roots is a go to for coffee, and their hand crafted coffees like lattes are great. They had no added sugar almond milk for an almond milk latte and it was fabulous. Their coffee crafts of just black coffee often taste sour to me, but I haven't heard others complain, so it may just be preference.
People were awesome and my Americano was great! Have heard the owner treats his employees well and they don't accept tips. Nice atmosphere as well. Will be back!
I dock the stars due to their stocking and planning. They run out of just about everything. Bagels past 10am on a weekend, certain pastries and breakfast items. Their website menu doesn't match their actual menu, I was listening in on a vegan couple trying to order and they didn't have any of the advertised vegan offerings, and the cashier guy had never even heard of the vegan yogurt they referenced from the website. Every time I head in there you hear of something they don't have and it's disappointing. I won't go there unless I need a coffee during a prolonged event around the corner because I don't trust they'll have what i want.
Meet a friend here almost weekly. Recently had some of the best Broccoli Cheddar soup I have ever had. I usually just go there for tea and a place to chat. Always busy, but never overcrowded. They have an outdoor patio that is great in the summer. Have just gone to no tipping by increasing hourly wages for their staff. Refreshing.
When I visited common Roots Cafe I was here during a promotional event put on by State Farm Insurance. We were able to order anything food-wise from the menu for free. I didn't get exactly what I ordered however the breakfast burrito that I did get was incredibly well-made and delicious. They tend to offer more organic fair-trade and local Foods which obviously would cost more so if you are happy to pay higher prices for such amenities in your meal this is a great place to eat.
Best breakfast burrito I have ever had and it doesn't break the bank. They also have beer! Great place for brunch, lunch, or dinner.
