I usually go to Star Liquors for wine and beer. I don't drink a lot, but I will make a purchase every month or so. They have a good selection of wine and a decent selection of beer. The prices are better then other places in the Coon Rapids area. The staff are always very nice and friendly. They do card, as they have to do some scanner type deal, but that seems to be a legal thing, and I get carded no matter what, so no biggie.

Hands down, the worst craft beer selection in the area. Any other liquor store around here has more to offer. If for some reason you have no choice but to stop in here, be prepared to have your id, the id of anyone you are with (including your kids), along with your birth certificate and latest vaccination records.
I really appreciate the fact that they put cardboard pieces in between your bottles of wine (inside the paper bag) to keep them protected.
My liquor is always at least 2 dollars cheaper than other liquor stores closer to me. The staff is nice and approachable. I heard someone in line before me get frustrated for pulling out their ID. This is strange to me because many restaurants do this to flatter their customers. I’m almost 30 and expect to pull my id out. I later learned that they need IDs to unlock their drawers at the register. No big deal.
