The guys who run this place are great! They are quick and accommodating and really know bikes. I stopped in tonight because my chain was skipping in certain gears. They quickly figured out what was going on and got it fixed up quickly on the spot. Love that they're local and close by. I moved from St Paul to Minneapolis last year, and I'll definitely be bringing my bike here now.
No one would mistake me for a god of bicycle maintenance, and when I brought my 14 year old hybrid into Tangletown Bike Shop it was a mess. Alex did a beautiful job of overhauling it, using used hardware where appropriate to keep the cost within my budget and making all the adjustments I had asked for. It did need an adjustment so I brought it back today and Mike, the owner, did some tweaking, and now it is like a brand new bike.
Out of all the wonderful bike shops in the cities, Tangletown stands above as my clear favorite. All the staff, especially Mike, the owner, are extremely helpful and respectful. They are always able fix my obscure problems and have a tons of new and used parts, as well as a great selection of bikes. Everything you need is here.
