Great place for all things bike. The staff is super knowledgeable and eager to help. No never feel like you are being talked down to because you know less than they do. From someone brand new to bicycling to someone having custom work done. This is definitely the place to go
Two months ago I came in to have my chain replaced after some of the links had started to bind. Due to some unfortunate circumstances I was not able to ride much in those two months, but after a few rides I found that the new chain was also binding. I brought it in and they fixed it, only for it to snap on a ride the next day. When I went in with the broken chain they charged me to fix it again. Unfortunately that fix did not work either, and when asked they said they could not cover the cost of replacing the chain yet again. Friendly people, but not impressed with the customer service charging to fix what should have been a new part.
My favorite bike shop in town! The staff are very helpful and happy to answer any question I've had. They host a bimonthly repair night where people can bring in their bikes and learn how to fix and maintain them. I can't think of anything this shop could be doing better!
Management is destroying the integrity of this store. Brought a mountain bike here to replace the chain, they put a new one on. New chain broke after one ride (I've never snapped a chain before, let alone a brand new one, not that agressive of a mountain biker) so took it back and asked them to replace. Manager said they could replace the chain but they'd have to charge full price for the new chain ($50) but that they'd give free labor ($10) hardly the customer service you'd expect. Brought the bike to a different local bike shop (301 Cedar Ave S, Minneapolis) and they immediately pointed out that a road bike chain had been put on this MOUNTAIN bike!! No wonder the chain broke... Now I'm thankful Recovery Bike Shop's big mistake didn't trash the chainring or cassett of the bike. Will never be risking my bike at their hands again, plenty of other truly trustworthy bike shops out there!
Super friendly and helpful staff. Recovery is a fantastic neighborhood bike shop. They're quick with advice, affordable parts, and anything else you might need. I've never bought a bike from them but they also appear to do a great job of restoring bikes to sell and have a small selection of very fun setups on new bikes.
