Gene is the man!! He found the exact bike I wanted when literally nobody else in the country could find one because of low supply of XL frame size. They got it built and ready for pick up in a very timely manner as well.
This shop provides awesome repair service, no doubt. I recommend you ask for Reedy for a fix up. They are great at giving tips and they will do their best to help you, but you have to get their attention first. In my experience, they'll take care of you, but you might have to wait in line. They go above most other shops in the city for what they'll diagnose and do without charging you, e.g. free air, fit you to your bike, tighten spokes, new valve cap, etc. The small stuff. They will sometimes stay open late for you. I take a detour to downtown instead of going to shops by my house because these guys are better. And so are the mochas.
I don't really like to ride bikes, but I do love to drink coffee and this place is great for that! Good coffee, delicious banana bread, and plenty of seating to read, work, and relax.
The biggest downside I have are the prices. They should definitely reevaluate how much they are charging and what they sell. That's what keeps me and I'm sure, a lot of others at bay. Also, downtown is midpoint for me and I don't mind hanging out while I get my bike looked at. The people are friendly. However, I can see how the atmosphere, isn't going to be for everyone -- especially if guys (not staff) are drinking midday.
After multiple failures with other bike shops One on One saved the day with getting me in. These guys know there stuff, are knowledge and have experience with higher end product and will take care of you. May not be the friendliest shop but once you get down with the guys there actually a set of pretty cool dudes. Thank you Graham, James and the rest for taking care of me. It's hard to come by good service. Highly recommend to anyone looking to speak and work with people who actually live and breathe bikes. Thanks One on One.
