A small but unique variety of shops, most locally owned. Dogwood Coffee has excellent drinks at average prices. Famous Dave’s provides an intimate venue for local and touring musical acts. Most first floor shops have a mall and street side entrance.
You tend to run into a lot of Riff Raff around these parts. Almost every bar seems well over priced. All the shops seem stacked on top of each other and all clustered together. I could definitely think of better places to spend my time.
If Kitchen Window and Famous Dave's were the only two places in Calhoun Square it would be worth the trip. Both are true destinations, one for all things kitchen and the other for good ribs served up with live music almost every night. Both have been around for at least a decade, and hopefully they will always be around to give one a reason to shop in Uptown.
This is a rather small Mall. It doesn't have a lot of shops to walk around. It does have a good selection of restaurants. It's never really crowded in this mall. I just wish there were more stores that I'd like to shop at. I tend to visit the shops outside the mall more than the ones in side the mall. I haven't seen a good coffee shop in there. I visited one of the coffee shops but it's not very good and the coffee isn't very good. I'd like to see more diverse offerings.
Fun place to explore in the middle of uptown. Interesting stores and a gym in the center. It seems like there should be more stores too.
