This is one of the best hiking locations within the city of Minneapolis and it also happens to be a dog park. The main path leads you down to the sandy riverfront with about a mile or two of shoreline to explore. There are also miles of trails back in the woods and up on the bluff overlooking the river. We come here once a week for our dog and for ourselves. Would not recommend for anybody who has difficulty climbing hills or on rough terrain. Would not recommend for dogs who run away, as the park is so big it would be very easy for them to get lost.

My dog loved this park. Have to pay for parking and take a bit of a walk to get to the off-leash area. The dog park is fenced in except for the entrance.

This is an awesome dog park. It's bit of a drive for us from NE minneapolis but totally worth it every time. Our pup loves how she can just run around and jump into the Mississippi. Great place to take a hike as well if you're looking to stretch your legs.

Perfect for people who aren't used to living in a city. It's basically access to a big trail system that my dog doesn't need to be on a leash for, which she loves and needs after having been a mountain dog for so many years. Not fully fenced, so be cautious if you don't trust or have full control over your dog. Also, don't be that person, and pick up your poop.

Great Dog Park! Best part of the park is the sand beach on the Mississippi River Front where dogs can run and swim free. Parking is available for a small fee in lot across from park entrance, but lot fills up quickly so get there soon on a nice day, weekend or holiday. Rating reduced by 1 whole point due to several areas on trails with poorly maintained walking areas including downed trees and limbs. Some areas of the gravel trail are totally washed out by erosion so be careful when walking so that you do not trip or turn your ankle. There is a very dangerous stone stairway that needs significant repair. It is dangerous to walk down, especially because dogs are running up and down all around you. Assist individuals with mobility issues at this point to avoid a fall and possible injury. The walk down to the beach is worth it though and the terrain flattens out with fine sand to walk on. Recommend bringing a cell phone, hot/cold beverage, dog collar and a smile. One of the best dog parks you will ever find. Just needs a little tlc to make it safer. Not ADA compliant. Assist individuals with mobility issues, especially surrounding uneven stairs and around roots and sand. High fall risk park, especially when icy or wet.
